If the pain of grief could show.

There is one emotion you can’t explain to someone, and that’s grief. Only those who have grieved can understand when someone talks about grief. Losing someone you love to the cold hand of death is the most heart-wrenching experience in life.

The pain is never temporary, never. It comes, and it hits you hard —then disappears. It repeats, again and again forever.

The only thing you can do is to live, to cope with the absence of this person. To continue laughing, smiling, living, and waiting till the next time it hits you. And you wonder how you have been living all this while —with this pain!

That’s what grief does; it makes us stronger. It hardens our spirits. Because if we can live with this kind of pain, then there is nothing life throws at us that we can’t handle.

What if the pain of grief could show??

If the pain of grief could show, those who grieve would be the most vulnerable people in life because everyone can see their pain as opposed to people saying, “You are so strong.” —If only they knew.

If the pain of grief could show, there would be cracks all over my heart representing the pain I feel, bleeding until it was out of blood.

If the pain of grief could show, my eyes would be dark from pain, dark circles surrounding it to show how the light of my life is gone.

If the pain of grief could show, the bones in our bodies would be weak, so weak that we wouldn’t be able to lift a finger to exist.

If the pain of grief could show, our throats would be dry and itchy because no matter how many times you drink water, it won’t be able to quench the thirst grief can cause.

Living against all the pain is what makes us cope. Masking all the pain with other types of emotions life chooses to offer.

Keep being strong, keep living, and know that the pain never ends —so when it comes, feel all of it and live again.

To be continued….
